Within You | Inspiration | S/S '22
Have you ever felt trapped by your own mind? Lost? Not good enough? Or incomplete?

I guess,in that state of mind you try to fit in, covering yourself in layers of what the world seemingly tells you to be. So, this is what inspired the first look, for the collection. A double layered shirt, with a wide legged pant. A regular seeming silhouette, depicting the layers that one tends to drown themselves in, feeling trapped at times.

One of my favourite details here, has to be the flower of self love, in this cute little button detail.
If you are aware enough, at some point you will find yourself, letting go of these layers, and finding your true self. Depicting the same mood in the second look, the old layers are shown with a small yoke at the back, and more simplified design in terms of kimono sleeves.

This shirt also has a detailing at the centre back, kind of symbolising the phrase 'have a spine'. Step up for yourself. The second look is inspired from the onset, on the journey of self.
Both these shirts are made of recycled cotton, kind of symbolising that what we have always known, the age old cotton.

This is followed by a look that is inspired by letting loose, Breaking free of what you have already known. In a Kimono shirt variation, which almost looks like free shapeless bubble, paired with paperbag shorts, as a symbol of letting go of structure and regulations. This look also has a little detail, as the 'pause' button, reminding you, that it's okay to take a break while you find yourself.

I wanted to add a bag to this look, in a new material, to symbolise picking up new things, hobbies or habits, along with your journey of looking within you.
Making this, and the last look in a new age fabric, was a conscious choice, to bring in hemp, in two interesting weaves. Super soft and another in a see through mesh like structure.

The last look is basically celebrating a triumph, of finding yourself, accepting it and being a unique unstoppable force of nature. The free flowing see through cape, invokes a sense of freedom, the stitched together scarf, shows the journey from where you began, and how you still hold fragments of your old self, complete with the shorts from the last look.

I think these thoughts have troubled everyone, at a point of time, feeling trapped and lonely, finding the courage to break free, only to discover that you were complete all along, and all the answers are within you.
